The "Alumni Talk," organized in collaboration with the Industrial Engineering Department of Ondokuz Mayıs University and the Industrial Engineering Excellence Community (EMMT), took place on November 4, 2025, in the Faculty of Engineering's D Block. The event aimed to bring together alumni and students to shed light on young engineering candidates' career paths.
Speakers at the Alumni Talk included Selinay Erdal, Bus Operations Manager at SAMULAŞ A.Ş.; Avni Serhat Yanmaz, Management Systems Specialist at YEPAŞ; and Aslıhan Ercan, Information Security Manager at Ak Portföy A.Ş., all graduates of the OMU Industrial Engineering Department who have held key positions in their respective sectors. The speakers shared their career experiences, challenges, and industry achievements with the students.
Throughout the program, topics such as "What awaits us after graduation?", "What skills stand out in business?", and "What are the sectoral advantages of being an OMU graduate?" were discussed. Students had the opportunity to gain valuable insights into the business world through the speakers' candid exchanges.
Moderated by Buse Çelik and Hüsamettin Özen, the talk concluded with a Q&A session where students interacted directly with alumni and learned about topics of interest. At the end of the program, students were presented with small gifts. The "Alumni Talk," which was highly acclaimed for its friendly and informative atmosphere, created a productive sharing environment for both alumni and students.
