A focus group study was conducted with students from the Industrial Engineering Department on December 26, 2018, in the Faculty of Engineering Conference Hall, as part of the evaluation of the results of the student satisfaction survey conducted by the OMU Faculty of Engineering within the scope of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. Focus groups are a structured, qualitative group interview technique designed to identify participants' opinions on a specific topic. Thirty-five students from different classes participated in the meeting, and seven tables of five people were formed. Moderated by Dr. Naci Murat, the students were asked to submit online their positive and negative aspects of our department/faculty/university, as well as their suggestions, on the following topics. After entering these observations on each topic, the other groups were asked to vote on these ideas on a scale of 1-5. The data collected during this approximately three-hour session will be analyzed, reported, shared with stakeholders, and used to determine the initial steps for relevant improvement initiatives.
Focus Group Study Topics:
- Course Registration Procedures
- Counseling Procedures
- Course Content and Teaching Methods
- Internship Practice
